If my daughter gets raped, do you believe the government should make it illegal for her to obtain an abortion? Do you think your morality trumps her personal decision?

Not a very warm welcome, with your ad hominem circumstantial.

I wasn’t looking to get into a debate; I just wanted Sam to know that I:

a) am against abortion
b) am against embryonic stem cell research
c) am an atheist
d) exist
e) am incredibly offended by his accusations.
f) all of the above

Nulono, you lack a position that might chance Harris’ notice.

First, being atheist and against abortion are not mutually exclusive.

Next, being atheist and opposing stem-cell research are not mutually exclusive.

By trying to force those concepts as opposites, you assume to define all of them by your understanding.

Here is some help, you might posit that abortion is morally wrong based on….. You haven’t stated a position one way or another.  I still ask, unless this is a decision that directly affects you, why should anyone value your opinion?  You are only discussing the color of paint on your neighbor’s house without helping to put it there, pay for it, or live with it.

This may help you to understand why Harris is published and you are on his website.  This is not to say I agree with all of his writing either…but stating that I think him wrong says nothing.

I really don’t care. I just wanted to say something. Harris claims that only the religious are against stem cell research.

Women’s sufferage does not affect me, yet I still support it.
