What starts off as a peaceful protest turns into harassment by armed guards that the church of Scientology in Nashville hired to keep protesters off public sidewalks near the new building.
One can only hope that some skillful lawyer can turn this into an expensive lawsuit aimed at the COS. The “private security firm” would probably take the hit though.
A couple of things confuse me:
1) In most cities aren’t cops prohibited from moonlighting?
2) In part two of the report, the newscasters seemed focused on the fact that the COS’ permits had incorrect dates. Is this really the issue? How about the fact that unarmed protesters were aggressively accosted some 400 yards away from the church itself on a public sidewalk by men with guns?

Wow.
Exactly! In some ways, Scientology is more dangerous than christian fundamentalist sects.
Wearing masks is a bad idea. They really should have had more than 4 people. Those cops had to know they were way out of line. I guess they get away with it most of the time.
That kid said he wanted to remain anonymous? His name is public record now that he has been arrested. He is screwed. Those $cientologist will go after him with a vengeance. Hope he doesn’t have any skeletons.
The whole “Scientology” sect that’s still gaining steam here in America is just scaring the hell out of me; and it’s stuff like this that makes it all the more frightening. People look at this stuff from an outside perspective and laugh at the antics of Tom Cruise and say, “It’s nothing.” People are losing their wealth and their freedom over a cult founded on the belief of aliens and wealth=power teachings? Yikes.
