No Golden Rule In Islam

On a thread further down Parsley had posted this quote from the koran:

“No one of you is a believer until he desires for his brother that which he desires for himself.”

However, it should be clarified that "brother" here means fellow muslim only, and does not in any way apply to any non-muslim. So that puts a different spin on the "islamic golden rule".  The golden rule doesn't apply to non-muslims, which are najis (unclean) and are therefore on the same level as urine, feces, dogs, pigs and blood.

People like to cite this sura to try to show that islam is peaceful and tolerant, when in reality islam is the most violent and intolerant religion on the planet.
OK maybe the Aztec or Maya religions were a little more violent.

But hey, when mohammad was a liar, thief, torturer, rapist, child molester, and a murderer (who murdered with his own hands and ordered people who spoke against him to be assassinated) well what would you expect from a religion that claims he lived a perfect life and is the model for all humans for all time?

Do you mean they hate each other, as in they hate muslims of different sects, or do you mean they hate all other muslims?

“The three great rights are so bound together as to be essentially one right. To give a man his life, but deny him his liberty, is to take from him all that makes his life worth living. To give him his liberty, but take from him the property which is the fruit and badge of his liberty, is to still leave him a slave.”

- George Sutherland, Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, 1921.

Not to answer for warddy, but perhaps this passage from the koran explains muslim on muslim violence:

Koran 30:29: “Do not split up your religion into sects, each exulting in its own beliefs.”

Each sect thinks they’re the “true” sect thus justifying violence on another sect they perceive as not practicing the correct form of islam.

Welcome to the forum warddy, so glad you escaped whichever sect you were in, intact and sane.
