On a thread further down Parsley had posted this quote from the koran:
“No one of you is a believer until he desires for his brother that which he desires for himself.”
However, it should be clarified that "brother" here means fellow muslim only, and does not in any way apply to any non-muslim. So that puts a different spin on the "islamic golden rule". The golden rule doesn't apply to non-muslims, which are najis (unclean) and are therefore on the same level as urine, feces, dogs, pigs and blood.
People like to cite this sura to try to show that islam is peaceful and tolerant, when in reality islam is the most violent and intolerant religion on the planet.
OK maybe the Aztec or Maya religions were a little more violent.
But hey, when mohammad was a liar, thief, torturer, rapist, child molester, and a murderer (who murdered with his own hands and ordered people who spoke against him to be assassinated) well what would you expect from a religion that claims he lived a perfect life and is the model for all humans for all time?
