Well, I read John Gray's 'Straw Dogs: Thoughts on Humans and Other Animals' a while back, and I was wondering if anyone here had any comments about it?
I had similar feelings whilst reading that book as I did whilst reading Sam Harris' (maybe a less depressed, perhaps).
I hope Gray's pessimism is unjustified. Still, I find I can't quite disagree with him somehow.
While I'm on, I may as well mention another book which I found very interesting also, namely 'Phantoms in the Brain: Human Nature and the Architecture of the Mind' by V.S. Ramachandran - perhaps you fellows are already familiar with it?
