So much hypocrisy. I think that’s what annoys me the most with these people. His response last year to a successful 15M$ law suit against his diocese for sexual abuse commited by at least 5 priests was:

“I want to formally apologize to every victim and to their families for the sexual abuse that was inflicted upon those who were entitled instead to the trust and protection of priests of the church,” he told a news conference in Halifax at the time.

“Sexual abuse, indeed any abuse, is wrong. It is a crime and it is a serious sin in the eyes of God. I want to assure you that for some time our diocese, like others throughout Canada, have been taking steps to protect children and youth.”

Well, if it’s any consolation to you, at least he’s not likely to get the outpouring of support that Roman Polanksi’s currently getting from the film community, and at least those people are living proof that hypocrisy is not confined to the religious.

Indeed.
This isn’t the first time that I have noticed a similarity between religious douchenozzlry and our foul-smelling celebrity culture.

How fortunate we are that these two forms of rank idiocy never join forces.
