Do you any of you know what the typical hospital will do if some religious nut (i.e. Jehovah's witness) refuses a blood transfusion for their child?  I think that some hospitals will follow the parent's wishes.

I have spoken to a few liberals on this subject and they mostly think that it is ultimately up to the parents.  I think this is absurd.

If parents who have no religious affiliation request no blood transfusion, any hospital will realize they are dealing with nutcases and do anything and everything to change their minds and/or take temporary custody of the child.  But if the parents are religious, then somehow it is okay.

It comes down to the idea that religion often a free pass to lunacy ...
