Is religion the problem?
Would the world be better off without it?
Do human beings have the ability to grasp the result of their actions and alter them to create an egalitarian utopia?
Are those who rail against the illogical foundation of religion simply seeking a safer more sound state of mind?
The mind must find a way to relieve its ever accumulating levels of stress.
Some go to a baseball games…......some hunt pigs….......some take on religion.

Sometimes the problem is just our affinity for incoherent vagueness, though.

Is religion the problem?

(Andrew):  One of many.

Would the world be better off without it?

(Andrew):  Yes.  Without question.

Over eighty percent of the people in the world seem to need the brain soothing effects of religion.
The human mind finds the tension that results from living in uncertainty intolerable.
Could you think of a stress reliever that could be used to replace religion?
To be honest with you…......I can’t.

yes we have a soul…...

Yes, religion and silly talk such as this has done far more damage to the species than anything else.  Without religion, we’d probably have colonized Mars by now.

You live in a society where criminals such as Benny Hinn are allowed to get rich off the mind virus called religion, yet someone such as Kevorkian get sent to jail.  What religion does to an otherwise healthy mind is overwhelmingly tragic.

That 80% of people are religious sounds about right.

That they’re religious because they “seem to need the brain soothing effects of religion” is something you just made up. There are plenty of other explanations for how people get religion, often having to do with violence and indoctrination while young.

At this point I think I would find find following a faith very uncertain.None of them seem real to me. Meditation works great. And one doesnt have to belief in a god to do it either.
