"New generations will be entrusted with the future of the planet, which bears clear signs of a type of development that has not always protected nature's delicate equilibriums. Before it is too late one must make courageous choices that can recreate a strong alliance between mankind and the earth."

I imagine that the source will be easily identified. But what are the implications?

Pope Benedict XVI.

The obvious implication I see, is that we need to start to focus on how we are going to be able to allow pass along a world that succeeding generations will be able to inhabit. Unfortunately, religion is one of the largest obstacles to that goal that presently exists. Religion as we know it has to go.

“We have it recorded in a book called the Bible.”

To be blunt, the Bible records all manner of silly shit.

Correct. Last Sunday.

I think it’s really refreshing to hear something out of Rome besides the usual dreck. Problem is that most Catholics don’t pay much attention to what the Pope says, anyway. Or maybe that’s not a problem…usually.

Unfortunately, religion is one of the largest obstacles to that goal that presently exists.

And there I was thinking it was the extraction industry.

Religion as we know it has to go.

(cue music) ....what a wonderful world it would be…But since it isn’t going to happen, at least we might take a small amount of comfort in that the agenda might be shifting a bit.

Vatican is the only carbon neutral nation in the world. What to do? What to do?

How so? No cars? No electricity? No stoves? What about those smoke signals?
