This is almost too dumb to believe. The SS Administration is changing the way they assign SSNs. They are including new numbers so they have enough. That makes sense.

However, some numbers are still going to be invalid.

Are you ready for this.

All numbers beginning with 666 will NOT be allowed. These are invalid.

There, feel better. Your tax dollars are paying some wild ego maniac religious bureaucrat who has decided to outsmart the devil himself.

Rest assured that the devil will never be an American with this plan in place.

This is true, easily verified, and stupider than many other things I can imagine.

It would have been irrelevant if they used it or not. Was someone pulling your leg?

are you sure the rational behind this was for religious reasons? Either way it is pretty retarded. And I heard that the numbers 666 does not only represent the “mark of the beast”

Funny, though, I have a four sequential sixes in mine and I regularly get the freaky look when I provide it.  Even during phone exchanges there’s often a pause and/or throat clearing.  But, sadly, the cursed number failed to deter an identity thief.

It’s as stupid as the people who think all SS numbers equal 666 by their format.

3 x 2 = 6
2 + 4 = 6
4 x 3 = 12/2 = 6.

Guys, also something else you should know, this thread on this website is assigned the number 15664, check the address bar. 1+5=6 so that means its 6664, beginning with 666. OMGGG
