Liberty University should be put out of business, beacuse it is not in the business of educatng, but rather brain washing. It’s founder and director, Rev. Pat Robertson, has made crazy statements such as 9:11 was God’s punishment to America for tolerating homosexuality and the Women’s Movement encourages women to kill their children,in addition to inverting the teachings of Jesus, who was an outspoken socialist. Liberty University is now in the process of opening a law school to train lawyers to argue Roe vs Wade before the Supreme Court, and perhaps retrict or outlaw the sale of contraceptives.
While other religious universities such as Brigham Young, Pepperdine, and Baylor teach Creationism, they serve somewhat of a useful purpose. The governor of Ill, holds a law degree from Pepperdine, and is about to go to prison. At least, the facilities of an Lvy League university were not wasted on him.
In fact, science is indebted to religion. Harvard, the oldest and most prestigous university in the U.S. had its begainnings as a seminary to train ministers and the cofounder of Vanderbilt was a bishop in the Methodist Church. It is just the fact that as human knowledge has advanced it has rendered religion in schools redundant.
