Sam Harris

I would like to invite everyone to, along with Sam's book , read another. I can almost recommend it as a primer. It is called 'Insight: A study of Human understanding' by author Bernard F. Lonergan. I promise to all readers of this book, it will be a journey into the understanding of your understanding and how we 'know' something to be true.  That should be of interest to Theist, Atheist, and Agnostic alike.

My use of the word ‘primer’ is not really appropriate. As the book is 700+ pages long and the first in a trilogy and it has taken me on average 30 minutes to read and understand a single page. It more correctly should be characterised as a tome!! What I meant by primer was the sense of the meaning of the word ,primer, as introduction to a subject. The subject being ‘understanding of the act of understanding’ and in that sense for me it was/is a primer.
