Is anybody familiar with the ideologies of Jacque Fresco, a social and industrial engineer?

He offers an alternative for our current economic system, shifting it from a scarcity based economy to a resource based economy.

Here are some videos that are really worth your time:

Resource Based Economy (Energy, Work) - Part 1 of 2

Jacque Fresco - Resource Based Economy Part 1

This might be the next step in our cultural evolution

“Consider yourself. I want you to imagine a scene from your childhood. Pick something evocative… Something you can remember clearly, something you can see, feel, maybe even smell, as if you were really there. After all, you really were there at the time, weren’t you? How else would you remember it? But here is the bombshell: you WEREN’T there. Not a single atom that is in your body today was there when that event took place. Every bit of you has been replaced many times over… Steve Grand

He is an economic quack.  His theories would lead to mass starvation.

Explain and argue about your point.

Explain and argue about your point.

It should be obvious to anyone who isn’t ignorant.  His ideas have already been tried and they have resulted in tens of millions dead.

Maybe this will wake you up:  http://www.informationliberation.com/?id=37421

The reason communism and central planning of all stripes fails is because knowledge is distributed, not centralized.  Propertry and prices allow the kind of plan coordination between individuals and their localized knowledge which is not possible without them.  Free markets act like a supercomputer with billions of processors (individuals) coordinating their actions via the parallel buses that are price signals.  This is not something that can be simulated by a central planner that planner consists of a man, an oligarcy, or any othe bureaucracy, or computer.  There is no way to accurately and honestly move the decentralized knowlege people have into any such centralized system.

Part of the reason the world and US economy is so unstable is because we have moved to central planning of the monetary system.  Ever time it has been tried throughout history it has failed myserably, including the several times it has been tried in the US.  This quack wants to expand central planning way beyond what caused mass starvation under Stalin and Mao.  He has stated that he thinks Marxism was not radical enough.

Does my response satisfy your curiosity, or destroy your assumptions?  Seems like you created your profile merely to give me this one rude command.  Why didn’t you do so with your real name?  Why didn’t you ask a polite question?
