Now when I was 15 and permitted to consume alcohol I had a very pronounced distate for beer which happened to be my alcoholic Father’s preferred form of pain relief (he self-medicated the painful injury to his back that he received during the Korean War with typically a case of Budweiser a day, whether driving or sitting in our rented humble abode { according to Sam, his driving while consuming alcohol was not his free choice}).  My only brother, 5 years my senior also prefers beer, although he has now gone on the wagon since he has been getting tanked since he was 11, being on the low end of the senior spectrum, his body has taken a hit from the extreme consumption and so without free choice, he didn’t decide but his other mind did…. the one that wants to survive gave him the “will power” to kick his alcholic driven drinking habit.  I’m sure that his bystander wife and kids appreciated that.  My younger sister, born when Hawaii became a state also prefers beer and consumes it first thing in the morning instead of coffee… she is now old enough to pace herself and not get totally S… Faced before dinner… of course that is not her decision, she has no Free Will, she is genetically pre dispotitioned to consume large quantities of alcohol, but her auto pilot wants her to live and function so it allows her to pace her drinking through out the day.  Now there are my two other sisters, one a holy roller Christian who’s lack of Free Will has enabled her to do the Church thang without her alcoholism being evidenced…. she prefers booze… the choice of a quick jolt of alcohol , she is the oldest, 10 years older than the youngest.  My middle sister, 3 years older than I has totally accepted her Lack of Free Will and totally abstains from any alcohol consumption, but had in the past preferred booze over beer.  And then there is me… the Black Sheep…. I like it ALL!  Just joking, I now prefer beer, but half to drink wine… WHY, you ask… because I am a female and my Free Will is even less FREE than yours…. my husband prefers WINE!  and I am less likely to hang one on with wine because I just don’t love it like I do a nice ice cold Corona with some lime & salt… so much for Free Will right??? wrong A family of 7 alcoholics each exerting various degrees of adapting their genetic predisposition for large amounts of alcohol via their FREE WILL.  Oh, my Mom was a boozer, but mainly drank to be able to endure the pathetic life that she was born into.

There is no genetic predisposition for having/getting a habit of drinking alcohol.

There is no genetic predisposition for any habits at all.
