As the following scriptures indicate the “Lord” is supposed to fight for his people. If that is the case, why the billions spent on the Israeli military and why do they need money and weapons from the U.S.? Perhaps god is on sabbatical and cannot be reached. Of course Christianity also claims these verses as an integral part of their canonized scripture. It just strikes me as odd that nations largely populated by the believers of such tripe spend billions on defending themselves when the Lord will supposedly fight their battles. It appears that the U.S. taxpayers and the U.S. military-industrial complex constitute Israel’s “Lord” because that is really their salvation. Where is their faith and where is their “god”?

Exo 14:14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Deu 1:30 The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes,

Deu 3:22 Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you.”

Josh 23:3 You yourselves have seen everything the LORD your God has done to all these nations for your sake; it was the LORD your God who fought for you.

1 Sam 17:47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”

“Most of the Israelites did not come from outside Canaan - they emerged from within it. There was no mass Exodus from Egypt…no violent conquest of Canaan. The early Israelites were - irony of ironies - themselves originally Canaanites!

The conquest of Canaan by Joshua could not have happened [as] described in the Bible. Most of the towns…either weren’t inhabited, didn’t exist or were conquered at wildly different times.” —Finkelstein and Silberman
