The situation here has grown far beyond what three guys can handle with delete buttons. Last week, in one day of spam slaughter, we deleted 500+ posts. We can’t do that every day.

We have requested the same admin status here that we enjoy at PR.

We await the word from the Ubers as to the fate of the SH Forum.

UPDATE DEC 16th:

Your humble Harris Forum Administrator is pleased and relieved to announce that normal operations have resumed at the Sam Harris Forum. Over 26,000 spams (that’s when I stopped adding) have been deleted. Dozens of spammer have been banned. Hundreds of IP’s have been cut off. (all started with 60, 61, or 222)

All threads have been reopened for your arguing pleasure.

In Memory of Hitch, The Harris Forum will also be defended and maintained.

You would think they would have responded before it got this bad Nhoj…

We keep checking in to see if we have our new Badges yet, but alas…

I liken this to the Bush Administration’s response to Katrina.

I hope you do resolve the problem. I checked-in for the first time in a long time, and had to give up on several threads I would have liked to post in. Thank you for volunteering as moderators, and for your efforts to eliminate the spam. I’m glad this forum is still here.

Thanks, Pete. Things have been low-key here since we were encouraged to migrate to PR. At least we can keep the spam at bay over there.

This mess here seems like an attack. Why would the handbag link on page 22 be any better than the link on page 43? There are nearly 10,000 spams now. At long last sir, have they no decency?
