There’s another analogous thread in this subforum where there are some good replies in one sentence as to why one is an atheist.
I’d like to know the same for theists.
I was raised a theist (Russian Orthodox Christian) so I’ll go first: I was a theist because my parents brought me up with the belief

Please, be more specific. Define “everything.” Thanks!

Because the evidence for his existence is overwhelming. Only who has emotinal reasons, searches for reasons to make its own reason shut up.

Because I believe in the primacy of consciousness, that it is not possible for objective phenomena to exist independently of any subjectivity.

How is it that consciousness is able to see the primacy of consciousness?
Can it see that it sees its own primacy?

Spiritual enlightenment
I have always wondered why people travel all over the world and spend a lot of money to become enlightened.
Could you explain what spiritual enlightenment actually is?

It’s the ultimate goal of spiritual practice or mysticism (the essence of true religion).
The present meaning of the term mysticism arose via Platonism and Neoplatonism—which referred to the Eleusinian initiation as a metaphor for the “initiation” to spiritual truths and experiences—and is the pursuit of communion with, identity with, or conscious awareness of an ultimate reality, divinity, spiritual truth, or God through direct experience, intuition, instinct or insight.

Ok…...........but what is it?
What is the nature of the entity that seeks and becomes enlightened?
Does it morph into something bigger or grander?
Does it lose its personal identity after it becomes enlightened?
Is its new awareness eternal?
Or is just a temporary thing?
Is enlightenment a subjective experience?
What is enlightenment?

Do you really want to be confined to a personal identity for eternity?
Do you really want to live in bliss forever?
Do you really want to experience an eternal spiritual orgasm?
