When we encourage our children to believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny and Harry Potter how can we expect them to discriminate between the real and the unreal?
And yet they always do regarding all those other things.
What do you think is unique about religion?

The mind of all primates evolved to draw connections between its conceptually separated perceptions.
That ability helps the organism survive and reproduce.
It creates a psudo-reality blended from those perceptions that have a physical counterpart and those that exist only as an idea.
What it doesn’t understand…...and it cannot ever grasp anything that doesn’t have a physical counterpart…..it colors in with speculations that it then mistakes for reality.
It is next to impossible for the mind to see through its elaborate facade simply because that is what it is already seeing through.
It’s a hell of a problem that actually never existed.

Are we creating a mind ripe for religion?
Could be.

Or perhaps that is just what mind does.
And perhaps there is no way, or reason, to stop it from being what it is.
There does seem to be a way to get a peek up its skirts that simplifies ,demystifies and depersonalizes the way life is experienced.
The persona can become comfortable flowing along in the simplicity of unknowing.
