This video shows the inefficacy of tasers through heavy clothing (or if they strike a wallet or something like that). It’s more clear in the video that accompanies the article (second link). Looks like tasers are getting small enough to be viable defensive weapons on the carryability count though. That’s promising. Looks like they’ve also added at least a second shot capability as well. They’re getting closer to becoming viable primary defensive weapons, though using them as yet would still be pretty risky—shifting the benefit of doubt to the violent predator and away from the intended prey.
