Good interview.

Some highlights include:

The bible being viewed as a work of literature and not a very good representation of history. Certainly not as something to base your life upon. It should NOT be above scrutiny or critisism. We need to change our education system and not teach the bible as the authoritative word of god.

One thing that I thought was interesting was Sam did say that politicians need to be careful with what they say. A politician, such as Bush, saying some of the things that Sam has said about Islam would be disasterous. He and the host discussed a bit the Pope’s recent comment about Islam being violent. Although Sam agreed with it, it was a mistake for the pope to say it. Sam did say it was regrettable that the pope apologized. He was kind of forced into it because of the threat of violence from the pope’s words—-you know, the words that suggested that Islam was violent. :?
