I guess the one thing we all can agree on is that Christians don’t agree amongst themselves on some basic stuff.  Good point, and thanks for the reminder.

Every Christian in Texas believes the earth is 6,000 years old. Those that might not believe that would not risk the ridicule of the majority that do. (Maybe a little exaggeration, but not much) Go to any Christian school in Texas and I guarantee you that you will not find a teacher that does not believe in a 6,000 year old earth. It is pathetic.

PS My wife is Christian and my son is in a Christian school. She and all her friends staunchly believe in a 6,000 year old earth and do not want to be “confused by the facts”.

This is not true Christianity does not believe morality is objective. Far from it, whatever God says is moral, is moral.

This is not true Christianity does not believe morality is objective. Far from it, whatever God says is moral, is moral.

But God is left out of most moral questions. And Christians, at least today’s Christians, believe in the Golden Rule. This is a objective moral idea. (Though its flawed, its still objective.)

God is not left out of the moral issue, he provides all, unquestionable morality in his literal, perfect word, the Bible.

If you don’t understand that, you are ignorant of the basis of Christianity.

But God does not have answers to every decision. Do you agree?

So what are Christians to do? How do you they figure out which option is the moral decision if God did not dictate it? What they do is apply moral principles. Like what? Like their Golden Rule. And the Golden Rule is a moral principle that is objective, not subjective. Do you agree?

Here’s an explanation of moral objectivism by wikipedia: [It] is the meta-ethical position that some system of ethics, or a universal ethic, applies universally, that is, for “all similarly situated individuals”,[1] regardless of culture, race, sex, religion, nationality, sexuality, or any other distinguishing feature.

Do you agree that today’s Christianity is consistent with that description?

Christians believe God has every answer. I believe the Christian “God” and others are imaginary.

If so, do you mean *all* Christians believe that?

Since the Bible has so much imaginary stuff in it, most Christians use “Gods name in vain”, by taking whatever passage they happen to agree with and promoting it as Gods “truth”.
