1:  to mislead the mind or judgement of : impose on : DECEIVE, TRICK syn see DECEIVE

For the word 'DELUSION':

2.  a: something that is falsely or delusively believed or propagated
    b: a persistent false psychotic belief regarding the self or   persons or objects outside the self.

For the word 'INSANITY':

3.  a: extreme folly or unreasonableness
    b: something utterly foolish or unreasonable

In this country and elsewhere millions of adults try, with considerable success, to make sane children insane.  Millions of adults push for legislation to teach delusion and insanity in the public schools.  Is our president one of this horde, or just pretending to be insane to get the vote of the crazies?  What will become of the U.S. in this competitive world with so many crazies at the polls?  With so many crazies making their children crazy?

'The End of Faith' should encourage us, at least, to call a spade a spade.  Delusion and insanity are at the gates in a giant wooden Bible.

I will be doing my part to decrease the level of delusion in this world.  I have three children under the age of five and my wife and I will NOT be polluting their minds with literalist biblical garbage.  We are proud to be in such a position of extreme responsibility and will do right by our kids.

Champ, if this was true, evolution would not be taught in public schools and the Christian Bible would be a standard school textbook.  Christian ministers would be invited to speak in public schools, and atheist and agnostic children would be pressured to attend Sunday school.
