Here's an interesting site about Scientology:

http://www.xenu.net/

If you're into conspiracy theories, you'll get chills looking through this:

http://www.whyaretheydead.net/

I was up half the night looking through these sites. One thing I learned was Scientology is a cult of elites. People have gone into debt and committed suicide after joining.

Also, check out the personal testimonies of some former members:

Hi rab

I hate it when no one pings a post I did.  So I will ping this one.  winkScientology is a bizzare organization.  They hounded me for weeks after I showed up at the local compound for curiosity’s sake.  I have to say that after witnessing what apparently intelligent people will cling to as empirical truth, I went miles further in my ability to truly ditch my Mormon religious roots.  I finally found a group of people who believe wierder things than I used to.  That was a torch passing moment for me.

If you ever get a chance, you really should take a couple of hours to go see for yourself how wacky the world of Scientology really is.  It’s… out there dude.

Hey Noggin,

I enjoyed your story of your experiece with the cult. As I mentioned in your thread, it made me think of my experience with Amway.

I think I’ll pass on going to a scientology meeting. They’ll try to rook you into paying for their stupid auditing process and then they won’t leave you alone. After having read some of the testimonies from the Operation Clambake site, this cult is all about money and getting more and more.

The ultimate genius of Scientology isn’t that it’s a cult.

It’s both a moneymaking scheme and a tax dodge, DISGUISED as a cult.  You gotta give L. Ron Hubbard some props for that.  After all, if you’re sheepish enough to buy into the Dianetics/Scientology thing, you’re sheepish enough to be fleeced.

The guy knew what he was doing.  I read somewhere that he used to joke among his friends that the best way to get rich would be to start your own religion.  I’ll give him credit for pulling it off.

Wht I’d really like to know, is who is profiting now from Scientology?  Tom Cruise has been so much more vocal in the last couple of years, is he now in on the scheme?
