Atheist Manifesto: The Case Against Christianity, Judaism, and Islam Onfray, M.

First, the prose in this book is beautiful and flowing, a wonderful translation from the original French.

In addition, the author fearlessly dissects and criticizes the history of the early Christian church, raising serious and important questions about whether Jesus ever existed, Paul’s mental state and motives, and the influence of Constantine’s politics on the formation of the Roman Catholic hierarchy.

The book is a fun read by a gifted writer, historian, and philosopher.  It sits on my bookshelf next to “God Is Not Great”, “The God Delusion”, and “The End Of Faith” and I take it down fairly often just to enjoy the quality of the prose.
