Big Bang: The Most Important Scientific Discovery of All Time and Why You Need to Know About It Singh, S. Harper Perennial (4 July 2005)

One of the very best science books I’ve come across, it reads like a page-turning thriller. It’s quite unputdownable and I finished it in a couple of sittings, which is unusual for me.  It’s not only a great history of the science behind the development of the Big Bang theory, but also an entertaining exposé of the scientist personalities who were involved.  Highly recommended!
