Breaking Up With God Sentilles, S. June 7, 2011

It was a fabulous memoir that explains the desperation of humanity to ease their own fears, yet gives hope that once we can claim our own selves as worthy that a true change in perspective will come and healing can be achieved.  The author is a brave young woman who spoke to me through her writing, and said everything I have ever felt so honestly that I cried with her and grieved with her, and then smiled with her.  We are all searching for a way to quiet our anxieties and fears, if only for a few moments at a time.  I know women will love this book, and if men choose to read it I can only hope that they recognize the damage that has been done to the most anxious and fearful participants in a religion that is all about a male God.
