Iron Curtain [from Stage to Cold War] Wright, Patrick Oxford University Press, USA (November 16, 2009)

I thought I’d covered it all but Mr Wright’s expose on how intelligent people got duped and how smart the Soviets were in masquerading as a civilised country was -then- astounding. And frightening in its effects.
I was born in [West] Berlin so I know the effects on the GDR [DDR].
The short section on theatre’s Iron Curtains is interesting if irrelevant.

Another writer- European is Egon Friedell - I got his book[s] in German but his tome on Europe’s History `from the Black Death to the First World War’ is a tour de force.
