Islamic Imperialism: A History Karsh, Efraim Yale University Press; Updated Ed edition (May 16, 2007)

A detailed and honest look at the militant nature of Islamic theology and how it encouraged the spread of the Islamic empire. The book charts Islamic history from the time of Muhammad to modern day Egypt and Turkey. An important book on a subject people in the west know little about - that Islam was in many ways the first great imperial power, very much in contradiction with the modern claim that it is the “religion of peace.”
