Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea Demick, B.

Greetings! The reason I’m recommending Nothing to Envy is for its exposure about contemporary dogma at its most extreme, and that having unquestioned faith in a “Great Leader” (or anything really) will inevitably lead people down dangerous and oppresive roads of serfdom and mind-numbing obedience.

The book follows the lives of North Koreans who chose to defect. It is of course nonfiction yet it reads very much like a novel.

Thank you for your consideration of the book.
