Out of Gas Goodstein, David W. W. Norton & Company (February 17, 2005)

A well written, scientific expose on the reality of oil’s future, this is a readable and compelling introduction to the science of peak oil.  It also engenders an appreciation for the miracle of petroleum.  We really HAVE been enjoying free lunch as a result of this miraculous substance upon which all of our lives, at this point, are clearly based.  And yet, we pay more for bottled water than we do for gasoline, and complain about the price.

Inasmuch as this book attempts to use obvious and clear facts to dismantle an inflated sense of entitlement, and inasmuch as it attempts to wake us up to reality, I recommend it to the site.
