Sex, Mom, and God Schaeffer, F.
Schaeffer was raised by missionary parents on the far right and was (or at least claims to be) one of the founders of the modern day evangelist political movement. But he has since changed his mind.
He provides some very interesting and disturbing insights into this movement. It also offers some good insights into religious demonization of sex and the religious view on the roles of women.
The book is a fast read, well-written and often humorous. I’ve read a lot in this general space and this is by far the most eye-opening, and freightening book I’ve encountered.
If you share my frustration with the dearth of fiscally moderate or conservative political candidates who are not also carrying a lot of Evengelical Christian baggage, this book will help you gain insights.
