Stasiland Funder, Anna Granta Books; New edition edition (17 Jun 2004)

A great read if you are interested in first hand account of what life was like in East Germany before the wall came down. Funder’s diary of her time in Berlin takes in first hand accounts from both ordinary East Berliners and former Stasi police. A very objective book that explores the harsh realities for those still coming to terms with the wall’s demise and its legacy.
