The Science of Liberty: Democracy, Reason, and the Laws of Nature Ferris, T February 9, 2010

Timothy Ferris offers an interesting take on the role of science in shaping liberal democracy, the intellectual heritage of totalitarianism, and our awkward tension between the freedom and openness demanded by science and our illiberal tendencies to want to dominate and control.  It’s a well researched book and recounts many fun historical anecdotes. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
