The View From Lazy Point: A Natural Year In An Unnatural World Safina, C. Henry Holt and Co.; First Edition edition (January 4, 2011)

This book is a fasciantaing look at Nature from a dedicated Naturalist point of view. He discusses the migration of species in his location associated with seasonal environmental changes. The author discusses what is happening to the planet secondary to climate change caused by humans. He takes one across the globe to various sites where obvious & significant chages are taking place which will eventually affect all life on earth. There is also some discussion regarding Religion & Evolution from his Secular point of view. Well worth the read as he is a great writer & has won many prestigious Scientific Awards. His other books are also worth reading: 1. Song for the Blue Ocean; 2. Eye of the Albatross; & 3. Voyage of the Turtle. He has a new book coming out which deals with the Gulf Oil Spill, which sould be very interesting.

I shoud note that Carl is a good friend. However, even if he weren’t, I would still highly recommend reading his books.
