Truth a Guide to the Perplexed. Blackburn, S. 2005

The book in short is about the value and importance of truth. It is also a valuable defence against relativism and constructivism and several prominent developments in contemporary philosophy that cast doubt on the value of inquiry, realism and the rationality of science. Blackburn engages, fairly but firmly, the most important figures in 20th century philosophy, while at the same time makes it accessible and readable to a lay reader. It makes an excellent companion piece to Thomas Nagel’s the Last Word.
