Welcome to The Jar.

This is a special containment thread hosted by Jar Management for a “special needs” poster.

We are now in full compliance with the Handicapped Internet Forum Posters Act (HIFPA). Our containment subject is once again, Br. Mario who, after being Touched By God in a ladder mishap, has sustained severe injuries to his manners and reading skills. As such, Br. Mario will remain threadridden in this specially prepared facility. Please do not encourage our patient to wander about in other threads.

Visiting hours are always. As always, poke at your own risk.

Before we begin, I have to address the most pressing issue at Project Reason (saralynn’s autobiography is the least):

Dennis, I told you awhile back to focus on bringing small joys into the daily routine with your ailing wife. You got from others basically empty platitudes and foolish praises. And, yesterday you returned my better advice with a silly inference that I would only have something religious to say to you at this most difficult time. Here’s another pearl: Love not only exists, but is our greatest power by far. So, tap into LOVE and your burden will turn to a real joy, and your wife’s sufferings will shed the futility you bring to them.

This is not a good start. Friendly gestures are not empty platitudes. Leave Dennis out of this. Your return will cause him umbrage as is.

Okay, “friendly gestures” then.

And, Dennis brought me up yesterday. Go tell him the parameters.

And, if you’re gonna tell me what I can and cannot say, I better go get a hat like yours to put on so we can look alike too.

...Martin, please help me with this guy.

Welcome back, Mario. If you ever feel up to it, I’d like to discuss house paint with you, especially interior paint and technique. The people at the local stores seem only interested in selling me their stuff and of course these whippersnappers lack the kind of experience you have. It’s a con game, I tell you.

Hi, envy.

I’d be glad to help on the painting. I have a lot of tips that can help you work less and make the job look great.

Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome back Joe.

I could do with a new hat myself… think we got to ease ourselves in here, keep our powder dry and make sure we don’t shoot our bolts too soon.

Hope you are well.

My current concern is interior paints which cover wallboard. A few areas need touching up and I haven’t been able to match the shades. Also, the paint has been on these walls and ceilings since before I moved in 7 years ago, and it’s held up well. It’s extremely durable, as I’ve needed to clean certain areas many times yet I haven’t abraded through anywhere.

What the hell kind of paint do you think it is? I’d like to know for current and future information. As for color matching, I guess I’ll just have to keep trying.

Thanks, Mario. I hope things are going well for you.

*! Mario, there was mostly comforting, encouraging and inspiring stuff given to Dennis - though perhaps as you are a master of “empty” and ‘foolish,” you see that everywhere you go -  “methinks thou dost protest too much.”

*!b] Um, since you had some time off, we have a preference for defining the words we use in order to have a logical or an orderly understandable “conversation” (argument as far as logic defines it).  Are you following me so far ? For as i remember, i have oft times said to you “i can explain it for you, but i cant understand it for you.”

Does your definition of “love’ include either the Abramic God or Jesus? if so please define love as you want to use it in our conversation/argument.

Does it include John 3:16 “for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, and if you dont have him, He (God), will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer, and burn, and scream, until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you. He loves you and he needs money.”  Um. is that part of your definition of love?
