I don’t dip into Mario’s threads very often, but do want to commend you Mario for such a seemingly endless supply of energy, my hat’s off to you!

The way I look at it, if you’re gonna be a horse, be a stallion, then only the most skilled riders will dare to climb on your back.

I’ve been riding along here with an empty saddle.

But it’s been fun seeing one unskilled skeptic after the next get tossed on his or her empty head.

Your knowledge of horses has wisely kept you away ... or maybe it was a bruised head smile.

Just read this skeptic gem, here at the end of all things intelligent:

“My personal experience doesn’t strongly affirm a self.”

Your poor family and friends.

It’s called “Spirit”.

“Something” a ridiculous skeptic doesn’t have, can’t understand, and will not think upon.

The ultimate expression of intellectual cowardice:
Those who don’t agree don’t agree because they don’t understand. Those who continue to disagree do so because they can’t understand or refuse to.

So…

The person who spent years of self-sacrifice and became a Catholic mystic is an intellectual coward for seeing the selfish ego-driven superficial skeptic as he is, while said skeptic is an intellectual hero for equaling himself on matters of spirituality with said Catholic mystic?

Sorry ...

You fools don’t know shit about anything pertaining to reality because you have foolishly sought for answers in the dirt under your feet.

And ...

My intellect has never recoiled at anything, which is what the cowardly skeptic does every time he can’t bring himself to acknowledge the wonder and goodness and truth of a living God that he owes everything to.

No ...

The selfish little boy who never grows up to be a real man is the coward, intellectually or otherwise.

Yesterday ...

I worked 22 hours out of 24, getting home this morning after painting by myself 6,000 square feet of a factory ceiling, so calling me any kind of coward is as wrong as calling God a human invention, you fucking douchbag.

Well, EN, I’m grateful for not being a person who smokes and drinks, and therefore ruins my health in a personal way, and ruins the cost of health care for others in a social way.

I have no need for the accolades of others, vacations, cigars, alcohol ... you know, external doodads.

Nope.

LIFE is good ... on the inside.

Because ...

A “generic” gratitude based upon our mood, such as you suggest, is short-lived until the next problem arises.

A deeper gratitude based upon deeper realities is a gratitude that permeates and truly changes us into grateful persons who humbly accept everything gratefully.

...

You are selling snake oil, my friend.

...

And stop bumping my thread. Go someplace else.
