I read an article in the NYTimes yesterday about the deaths of a few kids by parents who were influenced by a religious writer who wrote a book. The parents of these kids followed thedictums of the writer and now, the kids are dead.
I could not help but think of Harris’s books. Once again, religion has reared its ugly head, fostered by this book. I wrote a comment about the article but the NYTimes did not publish it. I stated something to the effect is this any different from the abusive treatment of women by ignorant Muslim men? I guess the Times was being “politically correct” and di not want to offend Muslims but it demonstrates how powerful secular institutions like the NYTimes do humanity no small disservice when it fails to allow a reader to call a spade a spade.
Sadly, the writer of the book is as immoral as it gets.
