[quote author=“Humble Servant”]Storm,
We are to pray for them and of course save them if we can, not let them burn. If we did, we would be like the Priest or the Levite that passed by the man who was beaten on the road in the parable of the Good Samaritan.

Did you just write that we should disregard the first commandment and the punishment for breaking it?

[quote author=“mudfoot”]Why should the government tell a pharmacist what he must sell? That’s tyranny.

Why should your god?

[quote author=“mudfoot”]Why is it the state’s role to mandate what pharmacists do?  Are pharmacists state employees?

They are not employees, but they are licenced and certified by the state.  If a pharmacist is caught lying or give false information to a patient, I think that is sufficient reason to suspend or revoke his/her licence.

[quote author=“Humble Servant”] I believe that the instance could come up in a hospital or ER with an intern. To the best of my knowledge, all doctors everywhere are not specialists.

I’m trying to imagine a woman marching into an ER and demanding an abortion. Elective procedures generally require appointments with the appropriate type doctor. On the other hand, if a woman was suffering something like a life-threatening tubal pregnancy, then I can’t imagine a doctor refusing to do exactly what was necessary to save the mother, unless the mother requested otherwise. You’re being silly, HS.

That’s not including the mothers who drown, hack, and smother their children (which by the way is more than 7 per year).

Sounds more like the M.O. of the mothers who God has been whispering instructions to. You know, to save their children from becoming homosexuals, and such? There was another one of those trials wrapped up this week. . . but you’d think God would’ve intervened to keep her from bludgeoning her babies. After all, he was the one to make her bipolar (you don’t ‘choose’ bipolar). . .  And it seems to me he does abortions by the millions, adults and babies alike.

Where was the free will for each of those dead children? They were at the mercy of God, and their mother who believed she was doing his will.

Hey, Humble, I figured it out. We can be good samaritans and still keep the commandment and the punishment for breaking it:

We save the muslims from the burning Mosque…

Then we stone them.

Just hope the Mosque wasn’t burning on the Sabbath. Wouldn’t want the firemen to break that commandment.

[quote author=“TheChampion”][quote author=“Mia”]Ah. You’ve been watching The Island   on DVD again, I see.

Keep repeating to yourself, Champ, it was only a movie. And while we’re on it, so was Rosemary’s Baby and The Seventh Sign and a whole slew of others. Sheesh, we need a new ratings designation for the gullible.

Never saw it, should I?

(how are the heels…..yuk yuk)

Really fun movie. All your worst fears splashed across the screen, and featuring the very appealing Scarlett Johanson and Ewan MacGregor.

Hmm, I’d forgotten all about the heels. . . but apparently you haven’t? All that repression leads to just such little obsessions, Champ. Nurse that along, and you may develop quite the entertaining little shoe fetish wink.

Mia,
You can’t imagine the instance where an intern at a hospital might have to perform an abortion but you can imagine that Christians can be the downfall of civilized society? Sounds like your imagination is a little one-sided.

Where was the free will for each of those dead children

?

What good is free will when confronted with someone much larger and stronger? When surprised by a stranger (male) at night in the parking lot of a mall do you contemplate free will or are your thoughts only on survival?
