I find other things to do, and if I really wanted, I could still coach or ref, but I don’t and blame no one but myself.

So you drown your misery and pain in glass upon glass of booze every day.  You poor, deranged human being.

(I was getting bored with water polo, so I decided to write a couple of sentences of your story to spice things up a bit).

I don’t mind some creative license to rev up a boring story.

I misplaced your recent order.  Is it the Korean or Indonesian gay kiddie porn movies you prefer?

I trust you to make the right decision.

That will get us both in trouble.

I suggest you go for the penguins, there are some good short films out involving elephants and water polo playing ducks, too.

Now in Nice. The highlight of the river cruise was Avignon, which seemed a delightful city, and the popes palace was quite an edifice to wander through. Them medieval popes lived well, although they needed food tasters. Walking out for dinner this even passed a street where there was a totally burned out bus. Apparently the engine caught on fire, but the bus itself was toast. Hope everybody got off in time.

Was in Nice in 1987. They were cooking a giant pan of paella on the beach.  Wonderful place.

Was in Avignon in 1975.  Geez, I’m old.

Just another old fart wallowing in memories of past glories.

Q: Is it better to be old or to be young?
A: It depends on preference, does one prefer to have less time ahead and more mistakes behind, or does one prefer it the other way around?

There are some things I like better about my old self, such as a bit more wisdom and a lot of experience.  Obviously, I would rather have the body of my young self. Youth is wasted on the young - the things I could do now if I had the strength and energy!

And the things we wouldn’t do, even though we would have the strength and energy.

Nice is my favorite French city so far.

I’m really enjoying being middle-aged. I turn 50 next month. I sometimes pine for missed opportunities FROM my youth, but very rarely for youth itself. If that makes sense.
