I think its a fair question to ask of a theist.  Why won’t god heal amputees?  There are all kinds of reports of coming back from death (nde), prayerful healing of cancer, and other internal things, but not a single verified report of a prayerfully healed amputee.  Why not?

That is a great site. I just found it about a week ago and have read through all of it as well as godisimaginary.com. The way it’s written is very straight-forward and understandable. I will be directing “believers” there quite often.

Good link. People who’ve been to Lourdes in France tell me that there are always people shouting that they’ve been cured and jumping from their wheelchairs. Yeah funny how they don’t grow new limbs.

Science, on the other hand, is closing in on that one.

Hi, new here

Feel sad about this topic :(

Less meat, less wine(cock tail…), more vegetable, more functional exercises, more care.

God bless us.

Science, on the other hand, is closing in on that one.

Typical theist response:  “God inspired the group of scientists who figured out how to regenerate severed limbs and facilitated the miracle”

It will never end.

If they said “Nature” instead of “God”, I’d get it; after all, science is about nature

Whaddya mean “us”?

And how did you become so powerful as to command the will of god?

Less cock, more tail, perhaps.

This is just another indicator that shows that the world looks just the way we would expect if there is no god(s).

Besides that, a creator god is probably impotent in this regard anyhow.

Good site, however they banned me after 1,000’s of posts. Seems to be some internal dissension at times. Still not sure why I was banned. Oh well .....  pretty good site!

You are not doing things right unless you get banned every so often.
Logic is a bitter pill even to the most enlightened thinkers.
It you get too close to their most cherished ideas they will defend them to the death.
I make little colored ribbons for those banned from the “free thinking” web sites.
Let me know which site showed you the door and I will a ribbon in the mail.
When you reach five you get a little golden boot.

Why should and/or would God heal amputees?
Why should and/or would God do or not do x?

To fit the provided definition and maintain a thread of continuity.

Why should and/or would God heal amputees?
Why should and/or would God do or not do x?

In Mark 11:24 Jesus promises:
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. “
-
In John chapter 14, verses 12 through 14, Jesus tells us just how easy prayer can be:
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; if you ask anything in my name, I will do it.”
-
In Matthew 18:19 Jesus says it again:
“Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
-
So as to your question as to why God should do or not do x, the answer seems clear: because he says he will.
