Use of the word "spiritual experience" by Mr. Harr

In The End Of Faith, Mr. Harris states: "spiritual experience is clearly a natural propensity of the human mind, we need not believe anything on insufficient evidence to actualize it." End Quote

Not disagreeing, per se, rather asking, how" (by what base -gold standard, for lack of another word) would-could one distinguish between a spiritual experience, imagination, psychosis, etc?

And does everyone define a spiritual experience, using the same definition?

You can probably see where I'm going with this.

Bible writers claim to have experiences.

Other religions, practices,  claim to have experiences.

Seems like almost everybody, and their brother wink have some kind of spiritual experience.
