October 2010 issue of Scientific American magazine has interesting article,
“Robot Be Good” (http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=robot-be-good).
So, in addition to the need for a science of morality/ethics for humans, looks
like we will need to develop such and perhaps apply it to artificial intelligences
as well? I wonder what synergy there may be between the two domains, robot and human
ethics? Can the development of a science of ethics for AIs inform the science of
ethics for humans in the same way that AI research has informed (or failed to inform)
human cognitive science?
Anyway, looking forward to reading the new Moral Landscape book…don’t know if
this topic is addressed in the book.
