Please help us sort out the forum’s issues. I need info from our patrons about format selection. That’s the little box (usually at the bottom) that offers choices of page layout and background. Mostly it’s a range of bright to dark backgrounds.
The default is all white with red and black trim. I usually have the forum on the second vid screen. Default is just too much backlight in my face. I use the middle-dark version called Developer for that reason only.
Many of our problem functions like polling and the new designations are working in default but not developer.
What I want to know is…
Do you bother to use another selection?
If so, what is the primary reason? Either as what you don’t like about default or like about another choice.
If you use a pad-sized screen, which format is better?
I use Developer exclusively (laptop and iPad) because the grey color is easier on the eyes.
Also developer exclusively. Less eye strain but I also love the home page for seeing what’s happening.
Will try Original
I use Grey (Blue is good too). I just prefer the subdued/neutral aesthetic, but I wouldn’t use the default because I don’t want it to sear into my retinas so I can never really leave the forum.
I use default. I like it.
(Using on a tablet)
I said that and then I tried to change my preferences and was told I couldn’t (the action you are trying to take is not valid).
And now the forum appears to be unformatted. I don’t know if it’s just me?
Screenshot on its way…
Ignore the above
PANIC over. It had changed me to “developer” even though it had lied to me about invalid actions.
I’m going to live through this and when it’s all over, I’ll never change preferences again.
I use the default setting. This setting has the ‘bells’ that cross out to show what you’ve already read; doesn’t appear that other settings have this feature (or do they?).
I only use on a laptop.
I am happy with the developers window.
I’ve tried a few but I’m fine with default, mostly for the layout, font size and dark print on a light background.
